Welcome, Yicheng Luo
Today, we are happy to welcome Yicheng Luo in our group. Yicheng will start as a PhD student, working at the intersection of meta learning, Bayesian inference and robotics.
Before starting his PhD at UCL, Yicheng graduated with first-class honors from the Department of Computing, Imperial College London. During his time at Imperial, he worked on Gaussian processes, reinforcement learning, deep conditional generative models (VAEs) and probabilistic programming languages (PPLs). Yicheng is interested in designing efficient and scalable Bayesian inference methods and applications in robotics, reinforcement learning, and probabilistic programming. He is currently interested in how representation learning (e.g., deep neural networks) can be combined with Bayesian methods to improve learning agents’ generalization in transfer-learning settings.
